The client had an idea for a food service platform to collect the leads for the food suppliers and distributors. The main idea was to collect the info about the restaurants and then use the data to calculate the possible contract values. Dataforest created the web solution using complicated data parsing and processing logic alongside the backend development of the solution itself.
First Bite is a food service data, CRM, and selling tool in one solution. It helps food suppliers and distributors collect leads and calculate the potential contract value (LTV) based on 20+ parameters, such as menu, cuisine, location, etc.
FirstBite sought a way to parse and collect large amounts of data from diverse sources, including maps, delivery platforms, and review services. The received data needed processing to calculate LTVs for each lead using the client's unique calculation method. One of the main challenges, aside from a precise calculating solution, was to build a solution very easy to use to satisfy non-digital-savvy customers.
LTV calculating service was taking a lot of time and wasn’t precise.
Integrating Dataforest’s very effective data parsing and cleaning solutions makes the data flow stable and efficient, and LTV calculation takes just 20 minutes.
The LTV calculation process needed to be more transparent and understandable for the clients.
Dataforest opted to develop the new Admin Endpoint page that shows the calculation result and provides a file with step-by-step calculations.
After integrating more than 55 million menu items, the web solution started working slowly.
With the ElasticSearch tool, Dataforest created the filtering solution by menu items, names, and descriptions. Now the web solution works smoothly even with more significant data amounts numbers and is ready for even more prominent.
The web solution is now being integrated with 5 different data sources, already has data from +1 million restaurants, and has +55 million menu items in the database. Nevertheless, Dataforest's way of building the solutions addresses all the possible sluggish performances—the solution works fast and precisely. The optimized filtering process and slick and user-friendly UI design are comfortable even for non-tech users.
The solution's main great idea, the LTV service, was realized by implementing stable and efficient data source connections. As a result, the LTV calculation takes a mere 20 minutes; the process is highly transparent and understandable with the new Admin Endpoint, which returns a step-by-step calculation report.
